On its path toward digital transformation, a leading company in the agri-food sector in Spain, with national and international operations, faced the challenge of enabling a cloud environment for SAP deployment in record time. To achieve this, the company relied on Altostratus, part of Telefónica Tech, which designed and implemented an SAP architecture on AWS optimized for speed, security, and operational efficiency.
The challenge of deploying SAP quickly and without margin for error
The company needed to set up a cloud environment for SAP within a matter of days, without a fully defined technical architecture. The challenge was intensified by the need to incorporate critical changes in real time, such as VPN and Active Directory configurations, and the need to coordinate multiple teams (internal, technical, and SAP partners) under an extremely tight schedule. Any delay would have had a direct impact on operations and planning, so execution had to be flawless, flexible, and perfectly synchronized.
A custom cloud architecture with a 360° managed model
Altostratus designed and deployed a custom cloud architecture for SAP on AWS, based on optimized EC2 instances, managed storage with EFS and S3, and RDS databases that ensure consistent performance and reliability. Connectivity was reinforced with VPN and NAT Gateway, along with advanced security policies protecting every layer of the environment.
The entire system was delivered under a 360° managed model, combining continuous monitoring, automated backups, antivirus protection, and proactive support.
This approach not only ensured a stable and secure service but also prepared the infrastructure to grow and adapt to future needs.
